Going out for breakfast is one of our all-time favourite things to do. No matter what city we live in or travel to, Dylan and I make a point to seek out a great breakfast joint.
So you can imagine our disappointment when we moved to Huntsville and couldn’t find a breakfast restaurant we liked. There were a few take-out options here and there. But as far as places to sit down and enjoy a great cup of coffee and food that will make you crave another visit, there didn’t appear to be many options.
We settled on one of the chain restaurants in town for a while. Though their breakfast offerings were okay at best, they left much to be desired when it came to food and service quality.
So when we stumbled on the Main St Local breakfast menu, we were thrilled!
We had heard about this place through the local grapevine and decided to check out their menu online – we knew instantly that we needed to give this restaurant a try.
I should mention – we don’t look for eccentric food options. Dylan loves nothing more than a classic breakfast omelette, while I often lean into eggs benedict or a traditional plate of eggs and bacon.
The Main St Local menu covered all the bases. Plus, you could see from their styled menu photos that this was a restaurant that cared about quality. We couldn’t wait to try it!

We were quick to realize that the welcoming atmosphere wasn’t just because of the interior design – the staff were quick to offer a smile and get you settled in.

We visited on a Sunday morning – prime time for breakfast restaurants. Despite being noticeably busy, we were seated quickly. In fact, we were sipping on a fresh cup of coffee within minutes of our arrival.

Not only was our server quick and attentive, but he was also extremely pleasant. When you experience people who seem happy in their work environment, it only makes you that much more excited about what’s to come – the food!
Given that Dylan and I are creatures of habit, it didn’t take us long to decide what to eat.

Our food order arrived promptly. Despite arriving at the table quickly, our food was not rushed in the least. It was obvious that the cooks had taken the time to ensure everything came out just right.
Dylan ordered his usual omelette which came filled with fresh veggies and delicious cheese oozing out the side.
I couldn’t resist the Mr. Benny which came with avocado underneath a perfectly cooked-to-order poached egg and smothered in delicious hollandaise sauce.
Though we forgot to take an “after” photo, there was nothing but a few crumbs left on our plates. It was that delicious!
Affordable Price for Quality Breakfast Restaurant
In a quaint breakfast restaurant like this, you’d expect to pay more for the quality.
Surprisingly, everything was affordable. In fact, we paid less for the two of us to eat than we did at the chain restaurant!
Not bad considering we enjoyed much better food and service!
